4th Grade Social Studies: Native Americans in Texas

Fourth graders in Ms. Blakley and Mrs. Uptergrove's classes recently completed a unit over the Native American tribes found in Texas. Students researched the Karankawa, Caddo, Jumano, Comanche, and Lipan Apache groups. They then created a PowerPoint to present their findings. Did you know that the famous Spanish explorer Cabeza de Vaca lived with the Karankawa for several years after he arrived in the Gulf of Mexico?
