Mrs. Newsom's fifth graders Skyped with Mrs. Rogers's Pre-K students at Lamar. The fifth graders read a dinosaur story to the Lamar students and taught them some problem-solution strategies.

4th Grade Revising/Editing project

Using the Shadow Puppet iPad app, students in Ms. Montgomery's fourth-grade class were given two paragraphs containing many errors (capitalization, punctuation, spelling, and wording). They worked in pairs, and their job was to revise and edit these two paragraphs. They had to show the error and explain why it was wrong and how to correct it.

This is a strategy they use almost daily in the classroom to prepare and practice their revise and editing skills. These are important skills to fourth graders, as they are really beginning to learn how to revise and edit their own compositions.
