Fifth graders create math comics!
Mrs. Rucker's students created a math cartoon. They were given a choice of math topics from which to choose on the first day we began the project. On Tuesday, students learned the program and how to use the website. Wednesday was cartoon test day. We created cartoons and made sure we were able to complete the cartoon in one complete class time, because the site did not have an option for saving. Thursday and Friday were the final creation days. The students made the cartoon and posted it to the class Twitter page.

4th Grade Revising/Editing project
Using the Shadow Puppet iPad app, students
in Ms. Montgomery's fourth-grade class were given two paragraphs containing many errors (capitalization, punctuation,
spelling, and wording). They worked in pairs, and their job was to revise and
edit these two paragraphs. They had to show the error and explain why it was
wrong and how to correct it.
This is a
strategy they use almost daily in the classroom to prepare and practice their
revise and editing skills. These are important skills to fourth graders, as
they are really beginning to learn how to revise and edit their own
compositions.
